HISTORY
The NIRA Alumni Inc. (NIRAA) was started in 1992 by a
group interested in preserving the history of College Rodeo. It’s first
president, Sylvia Mahoney of Vernon, Texas, and many others held the first
meeting at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Bozeman, MT where
the Association was formed.
The NIRAA Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit corporation
in Wyoming in June, 2001 and received tax- exempt 501 (c)(3) status with
the Internal Revenue Service on Sept. 25, 2001.
